South Street (High to Smythe streets)
The council recently received National Stronger Regions Funding from the Federal Government to conduct works in the CBA, which will include the completion of works in High St including landscaping. This would be from Bond to South streets.
Works will begin in the northern end of High and South streets in September 2017.
Thursday, November 23, 2017
The asphalting of South St (between High and Smythe streets) is now complete and is open to traffic.
Centre median works, landscaping, lighting and linemarking will finish it off in the next few weeks.
Monday, September 4, 2017
The reconstruction of South St begins on Monday, September, 4.
Works will begin in the intersection of Church and South streets. These works will focus on new outer kerbing for the intersection ahead of the construction of a roundabout. The roundabout will be constructed during the upcoming school holidays to minimise disruption.
Traffic management will be in place and motorists are asked to exercise caution in the area and adhere to speed limits.
Two-lane traffic will be maintained throughout the works period.
