Library gallery redevelopment
The $10.2 million project will see the redevelopment of the Wodonga Library and Arts Space Wodonga.
The two-storey building features an upgraded library space, two gallery rooms as well as community meeting and workshop rooms.
A significant design feature is the spiral staircase topped by a skylight which will intersect the second-floor gallery spaces. The design includes a courtyard to link with the existing courtyard and a second-floor terrace. The large tree that is a significant feature in The Cube Wodonga courtyard is planned to remain.
Works continue on the detailed designs and final floor plans. Construction is due to begin second-half of the year.
The library will operate from an alternate site during the build while the gallery will explore outreach programs and alternative spaces. Negotiations continue for a temporary location for the library during the build with officers talking to agents of several sites in the CBD.
Early October, 2018, it was announced that the Victorian Government was funding $4 million of the $10.2 million project. Read more about the funding announcement here.
