Latest updates - South St works
September 26, 2017
An unexpected situation with a gas pipe in the current construction zone has meant a small delay in the works progress. Crews are also preparing to transition from the southern to the northern side of the street between High and Church streets.
To allow crews to make the most progress in a short time, South St between High and Church streets, will be closed until Monday.
This will allow the project to keep within the expected timeframes for this phase of works, including the construction of the roundabout, which is timed with the school holidays and before the volume of school traffic and buses return to the area.
Eastbound traffic will be directed from South St down Church St.
Traffic management is in place and motorists are asked to obey signage and exercise caution in the area.
