Wodonga Council has received a planning application for the development of the corner site at High St and Elgin Boulevard which includes a future refurbishment of the supermarket.
The application includes a proposed two-storey frontage to the street with retail and office spaces.
It includes car parking and vehicle access as well as multiple pedestrian access points with a planned atrium entrance feature on the High St corner. It includes the upgrade of the existing supermarket to a full-line Woolworths supermarket.
The council has referred the application to the relevant agencies and a decision is expected in the next couple of weeks.
The land parcel was created through the Elgin Boulevard realignment and the council initiated the sale process late last year.
