Wodonga Council welcomes further investment at Junction Place

Wodonga Council today welcomed the announcement by Places Victoria of a new development at Junction Place between High St and Smythe streets over the coming years.

"We welcome this proposal and commitment from developer Central Place Pty Ltd to develop Junction Place over the next 12 years. It represents a significant investment in our city,” said Wodonga Mayor Councillor Anna Speedie.

"Our community told us they wanted a vibrant city heart and this development adds to the work the council is doing and the investment from all levels of government as well as the private sector in our CBA.

"As a council we are excited about the economic, social and employment opportunities for our city. We believe this proposal will be well-received, covering several things our community has been saying they want for our city.”

The new development would complement adjacent areas including the Promenade and Junction Square that have already been redeveloped and where several food businesses now operate.

"We look forward to works beginning as soon as possible," said Cr Speedie.
